Broken Rice

Is actually a type of rice served in Vietnam eateries. Do you see anything different with it? Yup me neither.

I ask Aunt why is it call broken rice. Aunt said because the rice is incomplete grain. Typically these are residual rice and yet broken rice dishes cost more. Hm..... maybe because now it's no longer consider leftover. Just like how salted fish is now a delicacy for the rich.

The only dish I can associate with the broken rice is the baby porridge that my mum use to make for me and my sisters. What she did is to blend the rice, carrots, potatos and dunno what else together then, boil them. When cooked it is like baby puree. I love it soooo much. I use to wait until my sisters ate their share before I gobbled up the remaining.

Although the broken rice taste like normal to me, the accompanying pork chop is delish and will definitely order this dish again.
